Magnetic Geophysical Surveys — Exploration & Engineering
Ground and airborne magnetic surveys measure variations in the Earth’s magnetic field caused by differences in rock and soil magnetic properties. Groundsearch has applied magnetic survey methods across Southeast Asia for mineral exploration, buried object detection, and geological mapping.
What We Detect
- Iron-rich mineral deposits — magnetite skarn, banded iron, zones associated with gold and copper
- Dykes, sills, and intrusive bodies controlling mineralisation corridors
- Buried steel objects, UXO (unexploded ordnance), pipelines, and tanks
- Geological structure — faults, contacts, basement depth and morphology
- Kimberlite pipes and mafic intrusions
Methods & Equipment
- Caesium vapour and fluxgate magnetometers for total-field and gradient measurements
- GPS-referenced ground traverse surveys
- Drone-mounted magnetometer surveys for remote or difficult terrain
- Processing: reduction to pole (RTP), Euler deconvolution for depth estimation
